The Old House at Home

If you can't afford a round at the Met, this more traditional place might be your saviour, offering bargain-basement prices on their booze. But be warned: occupying an unfortunate location next to one of Withington's shadier parts – and opposite a care home – it does have a whiff of scally-magnet about it. Other minus points include a host of moody regulars, sticky floors and an interior which looks as if it was last updated during the miners' strike. But then, some people like that 'genuine pub' stuff.
