Marble Beer House

This is a pub you wouldn't be ashamed to take your mum to. Marble – a Manchester microbrewery – owns the place and serves a range of ales made with strictly organic and vegetarian ingredients. Thankfully, this doesn't mean the beers are as weak as piss or horrendously expensive. It's actually a firm favourite on the Manchester real ale pub tour with Lagonda, JP Best and Manchester Bitter heading a lengthy roster of fine beers. But be warned: the terrace out front is strictly for sadists, brave drunks, or Newcastle United fans.
