Chaophraya
Nearly knocked someone out last time you were in Primark? Stress is a terrible thing... but fear no more, as Manchester has welcomed a veritable oasis of calm and karma to its unfathomable metropolis. "Chow–pie–a" is also an upmarket experience, with dinky water features and delicate incense. Providing a quickie bar lunch or ballsier a la carte, upstairs, the food is a luxurious, western take on traditional Thai. And once you've sated your lusty appetite for eastern cuisine, you can jump in the restaurant's Tuk–Tuk and go racing down the M56 to let off yet more steam. Well maybe not, but they'll drop you back to Primark at least.
