Manchester Museum
If you can sneak down Oxford Road without being spotted by students (a paper bag over your head should do the trick), then you'll find yourself in the Manchester Museum. Samurai swords, mummies and a dinosaur skeleton await those who decide that the educational supplement in the Daily Mirror just isn't enough to satisfy their grey muscle. Best of all, it's as free as a computer geek on a Saturday night, so your wallet need not scold you afterwards. Take off the paper bag before you start perusing though. You might knock over a Ming vase or something.
