The Station
Among all the wine bar bistros and chain pubs of Didsbury village, the Station is a sweet little sigh of relief. This local pub for local people is free from the shackles of the breweries who have strangled the life out of the ale houses of this country. It's a friendly pub where you can (at last) get a good pint of Guinness and watch the football, without having to endure all the drunken students doing the Didsbury dozen. If you do run into a group of pissed up rugby-playing scholars, just make sure you've got a waterproof handy. They're not just for flume rides.
