The White Lion

Time Team may as well be standing outside with a bucket and spade, since this pub is buried in so much history. Although rest assured, if they ever try to excavate under our favourite boozer, we'd be first to set up a picket line. Standing in the same spot for over two centuries hasn't made the White Lion a place for old punters though, and you'll regularly find young urbanites here, clambering for a taste of their country upbringing. The outdoor area is a bit special, although if you spot a couple of roman coins protruding from the soil, don't tell that Robinson fella.
