Umami

Despite living with the daily threat of being flooded by a leak in the Aquatics Centre, the underground Umami is a thoroughly laid-back place to eat. Modern décor, plus attentive and caring staff mean that if you should ever find yourself trapped in this no man's land between the two university campuses, you should have a nice little foxhole to run into if the rivalry descends into full-blown warfare. The food is a mix of traditional Japanese cuisine with a selection of accessible dishes lobbed in for the more committed bacon buttie eaters. Going underground has never been so much fun.
