Rhubarb

Sometimes wanky restaurants get loads of undeserved praise, with reviewers focusing on arty interiors, wooden floors, and cooing over dishes you can't pronounce. Rhubarb has all of the above, but with the added advantage of deserving all the praise it gets; it really is bloody marvellous. It's cosy and private, and the staff are nice, the food is dribble-worthy and they keep pretension to a minimum. Go for a date, take your parents, or even go alone, and save room for pudding. What a pudding...
