Sir Ralph Abercrombie
Oh those were the days, when knighthoods weren't awarded on the merits of how much one earned on television. The Sir Ralph Abercrombie stands in memory of the famed Napoleonic general. And, honestly, who could ask for a more esteemed commemoration? A beer garden Lord Nelson would be proud of, this is an old-fashioned boozer, complete with real ale, worthy of any French distaining general. Supposedly, this 200-year-old pub is haunted by a chap knocked off during the 1891 Peterloo Massacre. History buffs can see this battle recreated every other weekend outside the Manchester City ground.
