Warrington
For a long time Warrington was seen as a cultural wasteland, with nothing but pasties and IKEA constituting entertainment. With the arrival of the Pyramid Arts Centre – a multi-million pound glass structure hosting gigs, theatre, and exhibitions – it looks like those pasties will soon be thrown to the wind. Nearby, Parr Hall has welcomed the likes of The Rolling Stones and The Coral. With food aficionado Paul Heathcote branching out here with the Olive Press, the pasty's rule is officially over.
