Le Mont
London may have the OXO Tower, and Seattle the Space Needle, but now Manchester has joined the elevated dining club with Le Mont restaurant atop the stunning Urbis building. Not even the sight of the Arndale Centre can spoil the view, and you can happily stare out of the window without being accused of loving airborne vehicles. The fine regional cuisine has been planned down to the last detail –tuck into Lune Valley Venison, Galloway beef or heather–fed lamb from the Trough of Bowland. Should you have room for desert, options like the pear and almond tart should have you straining at your already bulging waistband.
