Friends of Mine Festival

An Itchy listing for the new Friends of Mine Festival, a well-priced music festival near Manchester in May with a great line-up for 2011

Listings

Glastonbury, Leeds, T in the Park, the giants of the festival world are all so passe. What you really want for bragging rights is to go to one that no-one else will have picked up on yet. "Yeah, I was there the year it started... the line-up was amazing, way better than it is now, obviously..."

Friends of Mine Festival to the rescue then, as even though it's just starting out, its line-up is fantastic and its ticket prices are better. £89.50 for three days of big (albeit retro) names such as The Charlatans, Badly Drawn Boy, The Lightning Seeds and Mr. Scruff is a very good deal. The venue is a mere 14 miles from Manchester so you could practically pitch your tent at home, although that would defeat the purpose somewhat.
