New PUMA concept store
If you find yourself looking at your trainers and finding that the duct tape is no longer holding up during your strenuous workouts
Luckily, Manchester got a special leap year present this year in the form of a new PUMA concept store in the Arndale Shopping Centre.
One of only four concept stores across the UK (others set up shop in London, Birmingham, and Glasgow), the store offers a uniquely-designed house to some of the latest footwear fashions, and lifestyle clothing and accessories with PUMA's sports heritage influence. The ship container-inspired store sets its displays laid on the floor, on the walls, or even suspended from the ceiling, finding what you want is an adventure in itself.
In case you missed the grand opening, PUMA honored four lucky guests with a ride in their own capsule in the Manchester Wheel, complete with a live DJ performance on board. Shoppers were also greeted by staged 'cat fights' consisting of two actresses going at it over a bag – and all without the trouble of having to call a dodgy phone number from your sofa at 3am.
PUMA also provided guests with an audio treat with a performance from the Clik Clik, an indie/pop/electro band that's well worth a listen (www.myspace.com/theclikclik).
We suggest you head to the new store to snag some great new PUMA gear before the fighting girls and live performances subside. You might even be inspired to (gasp) hit the gym, if only to show off your fancy new footwear.
