PUMA hunts for Manchester's most promising bands
Manchester's famed for its music heritage, but the other side of the Pennines has stolen the city's crown recently, with bands such as Kaiser Chiefs and Arctic Monkeys taking over where Oasis and The Stone Roses left off.
PUMA plans to redress the balance and is scouting out Manchester's most promising talent on the music scene.
If you're chosen as one of PUMA's favourite two bands, you'll support Hadouken! (www.myspace.com/hadoukenuk) at an exclusive gig on 17th June at Moho Live in Manchester. One of your tracks may also be used in a PUMA marketing campaign, and you'll obviously win tons of the latest gear from PUMA's legendary lifestyle ranges too.
How does it work?
Email video clips, tracks or recordings of your band to puma@itchymedia.co.uk. Don't forget to also include:
– The name of your band
– Where you all live
– Your ages
– Your contact details
– A bit about your style of music
– Your web address if you have one
– A few photos if you're not sending a video.
– How you heard about PUMA's band search.
What if you're into music, but not in a band?
Fancy yourself as a talent scout? Anyone who nominates a band will be entered into a draw to win a prize, which could be anything from tickets to the exclusive gig* on 17th June at Moho Live to sneakers from PUMA's lifestyle ranges.
Email the name of the band and any info that you have on them, plus your name, address and telephone number, to puma@itchymedia.co.uk.
The Rules
– All bands entering must be from Manchester (ie at least one band member must have a Manchester address).
– All band members must be aged 30 or under.
– Entries must be received by 2nd June 08 to be considered.
– Bands being nominated must meet the criteria above for the nominator to be entered into the prize draw.
– Bands entering themselves must be available to play in a gig at Moho Live on 17th June.
– PUMA's decision is final and PUMA is free to change the rules of the competition at any point.
– As PUMA's gig on 17th June is in licensed premises, only those aged 18 or over may attend. People aged below 18 years will not be eligible to win tickets to the gig.
– No cash alternative to prizes is available.
– The use of a competition entrant's track in a PUMA marketing campaign is at PUMA's discretion and is not guaranteed to happen. No fee will be paid to use the track, but PUMA will obtain the band's permission to use it.
– Winners of the competition will be required to take part in publicity activity, including photography, video and media interviews.
